About the Team

Our Team supports Systematics and proprietary mainframe applications for a LFI (Large Financial Institution) client. Our primary responsibility is supporting these applications via designing/developing and implementing software solutions per client specification and researching production issues. We are looking for talented resources to be a part of this dynamic team that will grow with the growth of the solution.

What You Will Be Doing

• Investigate known error conditions and follows prescribed error correction procedures.
• Recognize abnormal processing conditions and determines appropriate actions required to resolve issue(s) and complete processing.
• Make use of available documentation to resolve errors.
• Maintain the production scheduling system and new/improved work procedures.
• Research and resolve user problems as well as issues and problems with software systems, production processing and production environments.
• When solving a mainframe production or system problem, make effective use of tools and resources, utilize manuals, write-ups, and other tools as an aid in solving the problem. Contact others experienced in area for ideas about problem.
• Follow escalation procedures when appropriate to resolve processing problems and user problems in a timely manner and meet service levels and other standards for the job.
• Coordinate testing of applications, systems, processes and procedures, hardware and/or software changes.
• Analyze and implement changes or additions to software systems and production procedures.
• Train internal customers (employees) on changes, new systems, or new procedures.
• Assists in the definition of external and internal customer problems and needs. Discusses expectations with customers. May explain solutions directly to customers where appropriate.
• Maintain the production support disaster recovery/business continuity plans. Coordinate and conduct disaster recovery testing as required, document test results and modifications required for future testing.
• Complete project assignments and special projects commensurate with job expectations.
• May identify new tools, technology or processes that improve the overall processing environment or processing efficiency.
• May coach and share information with professionals with less experience and/or expertise.

What You Bring

• Typically, 7 or more years of experience as an operations analyst and/or billable consultant.
• Knowledge of client objectives and business priorities and FIS role in achieving those objectives and priorities.
• Comprehension of cost-benefit implications of products and services.
• Ability to understand real need behind client stated needs, to anticipate client future needs, to discern business opportunities in client needs and work effectively with multiple client contacts.
• Skill in solving client business problems.
• Capability to proactively take steps to better client relationships.
• Ability to show concern for needs, feelings, and issues of clients, to communicate that client's business is valued, to meet client perception of high quality/best value services and products and to ensure commitments are accomplished according to client specifications.
• Timely responsiveness to client questions or needs, even if outside area of responsibility.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues, clients and public.

Added Bonus If You Have

• Associate or bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• Experience in a mainframe environment with Systematics applications, Endevor, JCL and CA7.
