Summary:

The President of CHRISTUS Shoreline hospital provides leadership and management for a health care facility within a CHRISTUS ministry. The Executive is responsible for promoting the CHRISTUS Health mission, core values and vision and for operational effectiveness and quality of care and service for the health care center. In addition, this position is responsible for Associate, medical staff, sister community, and community relations and ensures that the services provided are responsive to the community's health needs and integral to the achievement of the CHRISTUS Health mission and vision.

Education:

  • MHA, MBA, MPH or other advanced health- or business-related degree required.

Experience:

  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible management experience in an acute care hospital setting, preferably in a hospital that is part of a health system.
  • Catholic health care experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated interest and involvement in American College of Healthcare Executives as a member or a fellow.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with a variety of individuals including physicians, the general public, volunteers, and associates.
  • Ability to motivate others.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing and stressful environment.
  • Ability to make independent decisions as necessary.
  • Ability to solve management issues and direct numerous and varied operations.
  • Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the necessary programs, goals, policies, and objectives that are necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation.
  • Knowledge of hospital practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to health care.
